John Eastman, director of the Claremont Institute's Center for Constitutional Jurisprudence, will testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee's Subcommittee on the Constitution Tuesday, May 6. The hearing, "Judicial Nominations, Filibusters, and the Constitution: When a Majority is Denied Its Right to Consent," is scheduled to convene at 11:30 am PT, 2:30 pm ET, and may be covered live on C-SPAN 2.
Dr. Eastman is a Professor of Law at the Chapman University School of Law, specializing in constitutional law and legal history. Prior to joining the Chapman law faculty, Dr. Eastman served as a law clerk to the Honorable Clarence Thomas, Associate Justice, Supreme Court of the United States. In October 2002, Dr. Eastman was called upon to testify before the House Judiciary Committee Subcommittee on the Constitution regarding the same matter.
