This Month at the Claremont Institute, April 2023

Claremont, CA—Since our friends at The York Times perceptively refer to the Claremont Institute as a “Nerve Center of the America Right,” it occurred to us that friends and supporters might be curious to receive regular updates on our latest events and signature successes.

We are constantly working toward, and tirelessly fighting for, those things that uphold the American Way of Life, so once a week we would like to share a selection of the latest and greatest at the Claremont Institute. We hope you are both heartened and energized by what you read.

Center for the American Way of Life

In just under a month, our new Claremont Senior Director of State Coalitions, Scott Yenor, showcased the positive results that come from Claremont policy recommendations.

His recent report out of Claremont’s Center for the American Way of Life “How Texas A&M Went Woke” made the rounds across the Lone Star state and, unsurprisingly, Texas A&M and the Texas university system announced the removal of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) statements from employment and admissions practices.

In a meeting with Governor Ron DeSantis, Yenor presented a similar Claremont report, this time on the Florida university system. Last month the governor backed a bill that will eliminate DEI programs in colleges and universities across the state.

If spearheading the end of the DEI shake-down in two of the most powerful states in the country left you wanting more, we are pleased to report that our BLM funding database went live—to great nationwide fanfare. For the first time ever, you can track and search corporate giving (over $83B worth!) to the Black Lives Matter movement and related causes.

Finally, do not miss the latest in our “Provocations” series. Over the long weekend, treat yourself to David P. Goldman’s important report “How to Restore American Manufacturing,” a practical guide on reviving our industrial sector in the face of a growing Chinese threat.
